- Current conditions and real-time sensor readings
- 48-hour pressure trace and trend analysis
- Historical graphs for temperature, wind, and precipitation
- Monthly statistics and extreme values
- Publishing workflow and data update frequency
The Montréal station statistics module generates monthly and annual summaries from the archived observation data. Each monthly report includes mean temperature, precipitation total, pressure range, wind statistics, and extreme values. The statistics are derived from 5-minute observation records collected by the GraphWeather desktop application and uploaded to the server via FTP. Monthly XML data archives serve as the source for all statistical calculations.
Dashboard Elements
A typical GraphWeather station dashboard includes the following sections:
- Current conditions panel: temperature, humidity, dew point, pressure (with trend arrow), wind speed and direction, UV index, solar radiation.
- 48-hour barograph: the most practically useful chart. Shows pressure trace with sufficient resolution to identify approaching frontal systems.
- Temperature and humidity 24-hour chart: diurnal cycle, min/max markers, current value.
- Wind rose: direction frequency distribution for the past 24 hours.
- Rainfall: hourly accumulation bars, daily total, monthly running total.
- Statistics summary: daily and monthly extremes with timestamps.
Statistics Module
The statistics module processes archived XML data files uploaded by the GraphWeather desktop application. For each month, it calculates mean values, standard deviations, and extreme records for all observed parameters. The results are rendered as HTML tables and chart images, served from this URL structure.
